Aneesh Chopra currently serves as the first chief technology officer of the United States. Prior to his appointment, he served the Commonwealth of Virginia as the secretary of technology, and previously as a managing director of The Advisory Board Company, where he led the Financial Leadership Council and the Working Council for Health Plan Executives.
Aneesh will be instrumental in the Obama administration’s push to modernize the cybersecurity approach of the federal government. His main responsibilities will entail smoothing the integration process for all branches of government, while setting and achieving realistic and vital milestones towards the goal of a cyber-safe U.S. government.
Aneesh received his bachelor’s from Johns Hopkins University, and his master’s in public policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of government.
