SBA Renews Partnership with MBRT

Screen shot 2010-01-25 at 4.55.52 PMYesterday, January 25th, 2010, the Small Business Administration announced that they renewed their partnership with the Minority Business RoundTable (MRBT). MRBT is a national membership organization for minority CEOs. SBA hopes to continue outreach efforts to minority entrepreneurs with this two-year agreement.

According the a SBA press release, Karen Mills, the SBA Administrator, said “During these difficult times, it is imperative that we provide small and minority businesses with the necessary tools to drive economic growth and create jobs in their communities.”

She continued on to say, “Far too often, minority-owned small businesses and entrepreneurs encounter hurdles to getting capital, contracts and other assistance to help them succeed in the marketplace. Making sure we do all we can to remove these hurdles is a top priority for SBA and the Obama Administration.”

The partnership with MRBT is grounded in the hopes to continue to give support to those small businesses in underserved communities.  The partnership also allows the two organizations to share resources. The two organizations renewed their partnership on January 11th, 2010.
