OPM Taps Public to Name New Online Recruiting Tool

146592The Office of Personnel Management is creating an innovative online recruiting tool to help managers, employees and human-resources professionals with planning and implementing recruiting strategies and promoting interagency sharing and learning via online forums, NextGov reported yesterday.

OPM is collaborating with GovLoop, a social-networking site for government workers, on the still-unnamed resource set to launch this summer. To find a name, the self-proclaimed “Facebook of Government” has developed an interactive forum, where members can contribute and vote on names and ideas for the recruiting project. So far, some of the names suggested include FedMingle.gov, USARecruit, and FedsFindingFeds, which is currently topping the list with 17 votes.

The winner will, according to OPM, receive “bragging rights and some OPM swag.”
