DCoE Moves into More Social Media

Brain Injury TS.JPGThe Defense Centers of Excellence has a mission of rehabilitating and treating psychological health and traumatic brain injuries “to ensure the Department of Defense meets the needs of the nation’s military communities, warriors and families.”

March has been a productive month for DCoE. First of all, March is Brain Injury Awareness Month. Also, DCoE did a major renovation of afterdeployment.org on March 5, 2010.

“While the site’s essential mission to offer web-based tools targeting behavioral health issues remains the same, the site’s re-engineered architecture and content management technologies deliver wide-ranging content from diverse sources, all within a common user experience.”

The DCoE is hoping to encourage more participation and conversation, and foster awareness by creating both Facebook and Twitter pages. The content is focused on clinical tools, concussion news, brain injury news, and other information for prevention and education.
