Edna Primrose has been named by Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis as the new National Director of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Job Corps. Primrose is the former director of the Job Corps center in Woodland, Md. and a workforce investment veteran.
Secretary Solis said “Edna Primrose will bring to this position not only a wealth of knowledge about the history of the Job Corps program and how it works, but hands-on experience with students whose lives have been enriched by Job Corps.”
“I am deeply honored that Secretary Solis has selected me to lead the Job Corps program,” Primrose said. “Job Corps has a rich history of success, and I look forward to moving our program forward.”
Previously, Primrose ran the International Union of Operating Engineers’ Job Corps Training Program prior to joining the national office of Job Corps as chief performance officer.
