ONC Establishes New Subcommittee

Aneesh Chopra 1The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology has organized a new enrollment subcommittee that will respond to a section of the Affordable Care Act, asking the HIT Policy and HIT Standards Committees to come up with a set of standards that would help enrollment in federal and state health and human services programs, including offerings by new health insurance exchanges.

The new workgroup will be chaired and co-chaired by federal Chief Technology Officer Aneesh Chopra and Sam Karp of California Health Care Foundation, respectively. Membership is currently being determined.

The Enrollment Workgroup will hold its first public meeting June 14, 2010, at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center, 775 12th Street, NW, Washington, DC, noon to 5 p.m.
