The 2012 National Defense Authorization Act has made it through both houses of Congress and is now off to the White House for signing.
The White House had previously issued threats to veto the bill, but lifted any such threat once a clear deal was in sight, according to Politico.
The bill passed in the House by a 283-136 vote and in the Senate on Dec. 15 by a vote of 86-13. Passing of the bill brings the Pentagon budget base plus overseas contingency funding to $662 billion.
Provisions made earlier this week following a conference on the bill included contractors and monitoring the supply chain. The Pentagon and contractors are required to purchase parts from either the original manufacturer or an authorized dealer.
