On Nov. 28, a memorandum of understanding was signed to promote the use of safe and sustainable energy resources and reduce hazardous byproducts.
According to the Armyâs website, Net Zero âis a holistic approach to addressing energy, water, and waste.â It is composed of five steps, including, reduction, re-purpose, recycling and composting, energy recovery and disposal.
The EPA and Army are expected to focus on water quality and how to turn waste water into a clean nutritious product. The duo will also research how to harness other alternative environmentally sound practices.
The EPA and Army hope to achieve Net Zero goals for energy, water and waste by 2020.
