White House Deputy Cyber Coordinator Expected to Resign

Sameer Bhalotra is expected to resign as the White House’s deputy cybersecurity coordinator within the next few weeks, Federal News Radio reported Tuesday.

According to Federal News Radio, government and industry sources confirmed Bhalotra is scheduled to move to Northern California after his wife secured a job in the area.

Bhalotra was named deputy cybersecurity coordinator in June 2010 after serving as a staff member on the Senate Intelligence Committee for nearly three years.

Bhalotra has also worked within the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, where he developed cross-community technology programs with the ODNI’s science and technology staff.

His government career began as an engineer with the Defense Intelligence Agency. He later joined the CIA, where he worked on projects within the CIA’s directorate of science and technology.
