The full U.S. Senate approved the White House’s nomination of Joseph Jordan to serve as administrator of the Office of Federal Procurement policy, the Federal Times reports.

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee previously approved Jordan’s nomination to replace Dan Gordon on May 17.

Jordan currently serves as senior adviser on procurement issues at the Office of Management and Budget.

In his new position, he will be in charge of addressing duplicative contracts and tightening acquisition rules, according to the report.

He previously served as associated administrator of government contracting and business development at the Small Business Administration.

Additionally, Jordan spent time in the private sector aiding firms and local governments to develop purchasing and supply management strategies.
