Lt. Gen. Thomas Bostick

Lt. Gen. Thomas P. Bostick was sworn in as commanding general of the Army Corps of Engineers and chief of engineers for the branch.

According to an Army press release, the event took place during an assumption of command ceremony May 22 at Fort McNair in Washington.

Bostick will serve as the senior military officer for supervising the majority of U.S. civil works infrastructure and military construction and oversee nearly 37,000 civilian employees and 600 military personnel.

Army Corps of Engineers projects encompass environmental protection, a regulatory permit program to help protect wetlands and an emergency response mission supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The 34-year Army veteran will serve as the Army’s topographer and advocate for the branch’s real estate and engineering projects.
