The White House launched its federal digital strategy Wednesday, establishing a new center focusing on innovative technologies.

Gwynne Kostin, director of mobile in the General Services Administration’s office of citizen services and innovative technologies, has been named to head the agency’s new digital services innovation center, the GSA told FedScoop.

GSA will work with agencies to establish shared solutions for infrastructure needs such as source code sharing tools, language translation, web hosting and security architectures, among other things, FedScoop reports.

According to the federal strategy, the center will collaborate with a Digital Services Advisory Group made up of members from the Federal CIO and  Federal Web Managers Councils.

Prior to her current position at GSA, Kostin served as director of GSA’s center for new media and citizen engagement.

She also spent time in the Department of Homeland Security as director of new media and spent ten years in the private sector, founding an Internet startup company, the report said.
