The Legal Barriers project announced it has launched a new website, Health Information and the Law.org.
The site serves as a functional, online repository of federal and state laws regulating the access, use, release and publication of health information.
It also aims to informs the public of potential legal disputes that can arise from the migration of health information into an automated format while providing an overview of how privacy, confidentiality, and liability for the value and protection of health care can be affected with the rapid transformation and transition of health information.
Legal Barriers is a program within the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation at George Washington University.
According to the release, the website will help users analyze legislation that regulate health information and its impact on health care, consumer rights, and population health.
