The General Services Administration plans to give approval for the first set of cloud computing providers before the year ends, Federal News Radio reports.

Kathy Conrad, a deputy associate administrator, told the station six of the 50 cloud service provider applications are already in the queue for review.

Conrad, who works in the citizen services office and information technology, added that GSA plans to issue a Joint Authorization Board approval for three vendors by Dec. 31.

Jason Miller wrote that the GSA is also investigating the different uses for the five-month Federal Risk Authorization and Management Program.

Conrad also said the GSA plans to accelerate and streamline the review process and improve FedRAMP operations.
