Rear Adm. Joseph Horn Named Integrated Warfare Systems PEO

Navy Rear Adm. Joseph Horn has been appointed program executive officer for integrated warfare systems, succeeding Rear Adm. James Syring, President Barack Obama’s nominee as the next director of the Missile Defense Agency.

According to a Defense Department release, Horn currently serves as program executive for the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense program within MDA.

Rear Adm. Randall Hendrickson was appointed to succeed Horn as lead of that program last month and succeeded Horn on Oct. 25 as commander of Navy Air and Missile Defense Command, according to the Navy.

Horn, a 32-year Navy veteran, has also served as deputy director of MDA and held positions at Joint Staff and the staffs of Joint Forces Command, U.S. Fleet Forces, and the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations
