1 min read

TrafficFederal employees who use their private vehicles for work purposes will see a one-cent increase in their mileage reimbursement rates for 2013, GovExec reports.

Kellie Lunney writes the General Services Administration year’s rate is 56.5 cents per mile, up from the 55.5 cent rate in 2012.

The Internal Revenue Service also uses the 56.5-cent figure for private sector workers and GSA is not allowed to go above that rate nor is it required to match it, according to the report.

According to Federal News Radio, GSA set the reimbursement rate for airplane travel at $1.33 per mile and motorcycle travel at 53.4 cents per mile.

The 2013 rates went into effect Jan. 1, Michael O’Connell writes.
