Capital_BuildingRep. John Mica (R-Fla.) will chair a new House subcommittee overseeing procurement and technology functions at agencies, Federal News Radio reports.

Jason Miller writes the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee merged two subcommittees to form a new Government Operations Subcommittee.

Miller reports the new subcommittee will hold most of the functions previously held by the jurisdictions of the Subcommittee on Government Organization, Efficiency and Financial Management; and the Subcommittee on Technology, Information Policy, Intergovernmental Relations and Procurement Reform.

Prior to his retirement, Rep. Todd Platts (R-Pa.) led the government organization panel up until the end of the 112th congressional session, the report said.

Mica previously chaired the Transportation and Infrastructure Commitee for six years and was succeeded by Rep. Bill Shuster (R-Pa.).
