CyberStockThe U.S. Air Force‘s fiscal year 2014 budget sets aside nearly $30 million for cyberattack warfare operations, including $19.7 million for offensive cyber operations and $9.8 million for tools to help run those operations.

Air Force officials told Nextgov cyberspace activities will be a standard line item in the budget and the public should know what that money goes to, Nextgov reported Friday.

Aliya Sternstein writes some of the money would go to products to protect systems and content against deliberate or accidental intrusions, corruption and destruction.

Funding for the offensive operations would cover research and development, operations and training, according to Nextgov.

The Air Force wants the new tools to include items such as memory storage, communications equipment and equipment to collect and analyze intelligence.
