Jerry Williams, chief information officer at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, will move to the Education Department to assume the CIO role in the department’s federal student aid office.

His last day at HUD will be April 26 and he will start his new job May 5, Federal News Radio reported Friday.

Jason Miller writes Williams led HUD initiatives to change IT project management and management review processes during his four-year tenure at the agency.

Prior to joining HUD, Williams held positions at the departments of Agriculture and Interior, Office of Management and Budget, Small Business Administration and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

Miller writes Williams led OMB’s financial systems branch and led ODNI’s internal control assessment, financial management, pre- and post-audit activities and financial system implementation.
