The Defense Department‘s budget proposal for fiscal year 2014 includes $4.7 billion for cyber warfare and offense capabilities, with much of the money set aside for developing offensive capabilities.
The Pentagon requested $3.9 billion in cyber funding last year and wants to develop tools for jamming enemy’s radar or shutting down its command systems during war, USA Today reported Sunday.

“When you look at the strategic landscape from our perspective, it’s getting worse,” Army Gen. Keith Alexander, head of Cyber Command and the National Security Agency, recently told Congress, according to the report.
Michaels writes the Pentagon wants to have more than 100 cyber teams by 2016, with one category of teams responsible for defending military networks and another for attacking enemy networks.
The third category would help defend U.S. infrastructure, the report said.
