Richard Keegan, NASA associate deputy administrator, will assume the chief information officer role on an acting basis after Linda Cureton retires Wednesday, according to FCW.
Cureton told the website that NASA does not plan to name a full-time successor for several weeks and she will announce her future plans after retiring from NASA.
Frank Konkel writes potential candidates include Gary Cox, deputy CIO for IT reform; Deborah Diaz, deputy CIO; and Valarie Burks, deputy CIO for IT security.
Keegan has served in his current role since December 2010 and previously served as deputy associate administrator of NASA’s mission support directorate since the directorate’s inception in April 2010.
He also has led NASAâs office of program and institutional integration for four years and held other business management positions since joining NASA headquarters in 2002.
