Penny Pritzker and Michael Froman have been nominated to senior economic positions in the White House, with Pritzer chosen as commerce secretary and Froman as U.S. trade representative, CBS News reports.
Lucy Madison writes Pritzer currently leads investment firm PSP Capital Partners and is the daughter of a co-founder of the Hyatt hotel chain.
Rebecca Blank has served as acting commerce secretary since June 2012, when John Bryson first took a medical leave of absence prior to his eventual resignation for health reasons.
Froman serves as international economic affairs adviser at the White House and previously was a managing director at Citigroup.
If confirmed, Froman would succeed Ron Kirk, who announced his departure in January.
