Katherine ArchuletaPresident Barack Obama is set to nominate Katherine Archuleta, former national political director of Obama’s reelection bid, to lead the Office of Personnel Management, according to a Federal News Radio article.

Jason Miller writes Archuleta could replace John Berry, who left OPM in April, and would aim to help the agency revise the General Schedule and revamp the federal health benefits.

Archuleta previously served as chief of staff both to former Labor Secretary Hilda Solis in 2009 and to former Transportation Secretary Federico Peña during President Bill Clinton’s administration, according to Federal News Radio.

In 2011, Archuleta joined President Obama’s reelection campaign as national political director after she left the Labor Department, Miller writes.

OPM is currently seeking to hire more employees, overhaul the assessment and onboarding process for senior executive service members and minimize backlog in retirement claims, the Federal News Radio reports.
