The Senate has renewed Allison Macfarlane’s tenure as chairperson of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Washington Post reported Thursday.
Macfarlane will lead the NRC for another five-year term after the Senate confirmed her on Thursday, according to the report.
In a statement, Macfarlane vowed to boost transparency and public engagement at the NRC.
She has led the commission since 2012 after Gregory Jaczko resigned.
