NASAbuildingLarry Sweet, who has spent 26 years at the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center, has been selected to succeed Linda Cureton as chief information officer at NASA, Federal News Radio reported Monday.

Jason Miller writes Sweet will soon report to the agency’s headquarters.

The report says Sweet previously oversaw fundamental measures and procedures of the Information Resources Directorate at the Johnson Space Center.

Cureton, who now serves as Muse Technologies’ president, said Sweet will work to improve enterprise services and contracting programs at NASA as well as encourage coordination within the organization’s facilities, according to the write-up.

Miller reports the appointment of Sweet comes as NASA implements an information technology infrastructure integration program that aims to upgrade systems and networks for $4 billion.

The article notes Richard Keegan, NASA associate deputy administrator, has performed CIO duties since Cureton stepped down.
