Malcolm Jackson, Environmental Protection Agency chief information officer, is stepping down after three years in the position, Federal News Radio reported Tuesday.
Jason Miller writes Jackson, who also holds the title of assistant administrator in the EPA’s office of environmental information, told agency staff in an e-mail that he will join a private company as of July 7.
Jackson led efforts to migrate the agency’s e-mail system to a cloud computing environment and to create a centralized purchasing vehicle for information technology hardware products and services, according to the report.
He was also responsible for a contest that aimed to build mobile applications that give the public access to the agency’s environmental data.
