Claudette Roulo writes that Takai told a Washington Post forum that military platforms have moved beyond wireless voice and data transmission and into video communication and other technologies.
Takai gave U.S. bases as an example as they heavily use spectrum so that they can connect with overseas American soldiers in need of training.
âWe do 80 percent of our training here,â Takai said.
âThe safety of our men and women overseas is really based on their⦠ability to train,â she added.
She suggested spectrum sharing that is dictated by geography, demographics or time of day as methods to maintain system reliability, according to AFPS.
