Sisk_BillWilliam A. Sisk has been named the new deputy commissioner of the General Services Administration’s Federal Acquisition Service, Federal News Radio reports.

Jason Miller writes that a Monday memo from FAS Commissioner Tom Sharpe confirmed Sisk’s appointment.

Sharpe said that Sisk joined the agency as an intern 20 years ago and has served in various roles such as assistant commissioner for the office of general supplies and services, FAS southeast sunbelt region commissioner and acting PBS southeast sunbelt region commissioner through the years.

He began his career at the agency in 1990 in the Atlanta office where he became regional administrator and commissioner.

Sisk has served as acting FAS deputy commissioner since November 2012, shortly after then-deputy commissioner Jon Jordan announced his retirement.

Sisk was appointed by President Obama to the U.S. AbilityOne Commission, a program that provides employment opportunities for individuals who are blind or have other significant disabilities.

Sharpe added that Marty Jennings will continue in his post as acting commissioner for the Office of General Supplies and Services.
