Treasury Secretary Jack Lew said Sunday he will continue to apply pressure on China regarding the country’s alleged activities regarding theft of intellectual property and trade secrets, Reuters reported Monday.

Poornima Gupta writes Lew and Secretary of State John Kerry will host Chinese officials in Washington next week for the annual U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue.

Lew said cyber theft was different from other issues in cyberspace during an address to the Aspen Ideas festival, according to Gupta’s report.

He recently met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in China to discuss cyber-related concerns, Gupta reports.

The Senate confirmed Lew in late February as treasury secretary.
