Commuter ConnectionsA study by the Transportation Planning Board says federal agencies have increased telework from 16% in 2007 to 38% in 2013, NextGov reports Friday.

Brittany Ballenstedt writes that 27% of the DC regional workforce reported working remotely in 2013.

While the federal government took the top spot for teleworking this year, state and local government employees were last with only 13%, the same number reported in 2010.

Commuter Connections also said that based on the data collected by CIC Research Inc., 25% of the private sector workforce has telecommuted while the other 27% comes from non-profit organizations.

The report comes a few days after several agencies announced a partnership with the Mobile Work Exchange to develop a telework ROI tool.
