Beth Cobert was confirmed as the next deputy director of the Office of Management and Budget by the Senate Wednesday night in a voice vote, Federal News Radio reports.

Jason Miller writes the 29-year McKinsey and Co. veteran succeeds Jeffrey Zients, who resigned from the post in May and now serves as director of the National Economic Council.

Miller reports the Senate also confirmed Stephen Preston as general counsel for the Defense Department, Stevan Bunnell as general counsel of the Department of Homeland Security, Scott Dahl as inspector general at the Labor Department and Sylvia Garcia as chief financial officer for the Transportation Department.
