The federal government’s new cybersecurity guidance in the hands of Office of Management and Budget Sylvia Burwell for a final review, Federal News Radio reported Friday.
Jason Miller writes that the new cybersecurity guidance will direct agencies on how to implement continuous monitoring for federal information systems.
Miller reports the guide was supposed to be published a few weeks ago but senior officials were concerned about using the term “continuous monitoring” in FISCM.
OMB has reviewed the guide in response to those concerns.
The more than 10-page guide will adopt the ISCM designation from the National Institute of Standards and Technology‘s Special Publication 800- 137.
