Beth McGrath, deputy chief management officer at the Defense Department for three years, will retire from the Pentagon at the end of this month after a 25-year career there, FCW reports.

Amber Corrin writes she was the department’s first deputy CMO and was sworn into the position in July 2010.

Federal News Radio reports Kevin Scheid, assistant deputy CMO, will elevate to the role and handle McGrath’s duties on an interim basis until the Pentagon announces a new nominee.

Jason Miller writes McGrath helped lead the Pentagon’s electronic health record partnership with the Department of Veterans Affairs and promoted the use of smaller information technology business systems throughout DoD.

Prior to becoming deputy CMO, McGrath served as the deputy director for systems integration at the Defense Finance and Accounting Service and has also held program management roles at the Pentagon.
