The Mobile Work Exchange and Office of Personnel Management have published a white paper to guide federal agencies in measuring the economic viability of letting their employees telework, Federal Daily reported Wednesday.The paper, “Measuring Telework and Mobility Return on Investment: A Snapshot of Agency Best Practices,†contains interviews and studies on the methodologies that telework companies use to compute return on investment and comes with an ROI calculator.
The calculators are intended to help agencies with mobile workers determine concrete estimates for their cost analysis, which will in turn build their business case, according to Cindy Auten, general manager of the advocacy group.
Rebecca Ayers, manager of performance management solutions at OPM, adds, “We hope this resource drives future success by serving as a model for agencies in different stages of telework implementation.â€
