New Congressional Caucus to Focus on Cloud Tech Acquisitions

1 min read

cloudA congressional caucus has been formed by Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) and Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) to tackle issues relating to the procurement of cloud technology by agencies, FCW reported Thursday.

Adam Mazmanian writes the two legislators announced the bipartisan caucus at the MeriTalk-hosted Cloud Computing Brainstorm event last Thursday.

“The versatility and scalability of cloud computing will save taxpayer money and offer policymakers a chance to address the federal government’s dismal record of procuring and using information technology,” Issa and Connolly told fellow lawmakers in a letter obtained by FCW.

Caucus and Issa also co-sponsored a bill that promotes federal cloud migration and seeks to establish security assessment policies for cloud offerings, Mazmanian writes.
