VA Gets $63.2B in Funding for Fiscal 2014 Under Omnibus Bill

BudgetThe Veterans Affairs Department will receive $63.2 billion in funding for the fiscal year 2014, up $2.3 billion from the fiscal 2013 funding, under the newly passed omnibus appropriations bill, Fierce Government reported Wednesday.

Ryan McDermott writes the VA budget covers $140 million for the paperless claims system upgrades at the department’s regional offices.

The omnibus bill also allocates $505 million in funding for the Government Accountability Office and $9.4 billion from the Federal Buildings fund for the General Services Administration, according to the report.

The Small Business Administration will get $929 million in funding, down more than $100 million from last year’s enacted budget, Fierce Government reports.
