The Florida Department of Children and Families has adopted a LexisNexis Risk Solutions product for a statewide program to verify the identities of citizens that electronically access public assistance benefits.

LexisNexis said Tuesday that the Automated Community Connection to Economic Self Sufficiency program has received the Governor’s Savings Award for helping the state save $12 million in costs after five months of implementation.

“We congratulate DCF for being honored with this award, being the first social services agency in the nation to take this proactive approach to preventing fraud and – most importantly – for ensuring public assistance benefits go to those who truly deserve them,” Haywood Talcove, chief executive officer for government services at LexisNexis.

Florida also used LexisNexis’ HPCC Systems big data platform as part of the program.
