The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency plans to unveil a world map that is intended to use cloud computing and mobile technologies to bring curated geospatial information to intelligence analysts, policymakers and warfighters, FCW reported Monday.

Frank Konkel writes NGA sought to reduce the amount of time needed to find needed data from days and hours to minutes, a component NGA Director Tish Long said has become a necessity in today’s climate.

Map of the World provides a seamless, integrated environment so analysts can live within that data,” Long told participants of a recent Esri conference.

”All this content (is) tailored for specific defense, intelligence community and senior decision-makers’ requirements,” she added.

Long added the data will include satellite, maritime and air safety imagery; analysis and reports from sources such as social media.
