BLS: 10K Federal Jobs Cut in March, 1,200 From USPS

JobAdFederal agencies have cut at least 10,000 jobs in March and 85,000 total over the past year, GovExec reported Friday.

A Bureau of Labor Statistics report cited by GovExec says approximately 1,200 jobs from the U.S. Postal Service and 9,000 from other agencies were cut during March, Eric Katz writes.

Katz reports that agencies at the state and local levels have increased their workforces during March.

The overall U.S. unemployment rate was unchanged at 6.7 percent as 192,000 new jobs were generated in March, according to GovExec.
