1 min read

HTCphoneThe Agriculture Department has adopted a mobile device management system that is built to monitor the use of Windows, Apple iOS and Android devices throughout the agency, GCN reported Monday.

William Jackson writes that Digital Management Inc. is hosting the MDM service under a potential $20 million contract awarded through the USDA’s Next Generation Mobility program.

DMI designed the infrastructure to manage up to 100,000 mobile devices and to utilize a MobileIron technology for securing applications.

Jackson reports that USDA organizations access mobility services via a centralized web-based enterprise mobile management portal.

The NGM program also offers technical support for all 29 units within the department, according to GCN.
