Pamela Mitchell Named Defense Human Resources Agency Head; Jessica Wright Comments

PentagonPamela Mitchell, a military veteran and senior defense civilian officer, has been chosen to lead the Defense Human Resource Activity as director.

The Defense Department said Monday that Mitchell will aim to help the organization plan and implement civilian personnel policies, manpower development programs, readiness and security initiatives, employee benefits and force protection measures.

“She has demonstrated her strong leadership skills and capability to effectively manage programs impacting the entire department,” said Jessica Wright, acting undersecretary of defense for personnel and readiness.

“Her experience within the DoD will be invaluable to this position,” Wright added.

Mitchell spent more than two decades with the U.S. Army and has served in three roles within the Senior Executive Service.
