Lorraine Landfried will leave her post as as deputy chief information officer for product development at the Department of Veterans Affairs on July 19, FCW reported Monday.

Adam Mazmanian writes Landfried plans to build her own advisory and consulting services firm for executives.

“I’m very excited. I’ve been a civil servant since I was 21, so I’m definitely ready to try something new,” Landfried told FCW.

At the VA since 2009, Landried worked to decrease the time it takes the VA to deliver programs and instituting agile development initiatives inside the department and across other agencies.

Her long government service career includes enterprise data management, engineering and programming roles with the Customs and Border Protection and the Patent and Trademark Office.
