The Defense Information Systems Agency has approved BlackBerry’s multi-platform containerization system for use by Defense Department employees.Users will have access to BlackBerry’s workspace for iOS and Android devices through the BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 mobility management service, BlackBerry said Wednesday.
John Sims, president of global enterprise services at BlackBerry, said the company works to secure platforms from risks by using its enterprise mobility management offering in order to help clients comply with regulatory and business requirements.
“(DISA’s) Security Technical Implementation Guide approval for secure workspace for iOS and Android is another validation that enterprises and government agencies can rely on BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 for secure mobility, no matter which devices they have in the field,†Sims added.
The approval allows BlackBerry to facilitate transfer of information on devices that run either the iOS or Android operating system.
