Joshua Campbell: FBI, Secret Service Probe Cyber Attacks on U.S. Financial Firms

CyberCrimeKeyboardThe Federal Bureau of Investigation is probing the scope of reported cyber attacks against financial companies in the U.S., Reuters reported Thursday.

Citing various reports, Jim Finkle and David Henry write the attacks targeted JPMorgan Chase & Co. and other banks in August.

The report quoted FBI spokesman Joshua Campbell as saying in a statement that the agency is working with the U.S. Secret Service in conducting the investigation.

The incident resulted in the loss of data such as checking and savings account information, Reuters reports.
