Report: Federal CTO Todd Park to Step Down by Year’s End

Todd ParkU.S. Chief Technology Officer Todd Park will leave his current position by the end of this year and join a White House team working from Silicon Valley, Fortune magazine reported Friday.

Dan Primack writes that Park is transferring to Silicon Valley to help recruit new information technology talent into federal service.

Park was named federal CTO in 2012 after holding a similar role at the Department of Health and Human Services for almost three years.

He has played a role in launching the Healthcare.gov initiative and in enlisting former Google engineer Mikey Dickerson to revamp the government’s digital infrastructure.

He is known as co-founder of healthcare IT firms Athenahealth and Castlight before he joined the federal sector in August 2009.
