Frank Kendall, undersecretary of defense for acquisition, technology and logistics, is set to meet industry and defense executives on Saturday to discuss the Defense Department‘s acquisition reform bid, Defense News reported Thursday.

Paul McLeary writes Kendall, Boeing CEO Chris Chadwick, Lockheed Martin CEO Marillyn Hewson and other executives will talk through the new Better Buying Power plan unveiled in September.

Aerospace Industries Association Chairman Mike Strianese will host the discussion, according to the report.

The latest draft version of the Better Buying Power initiative calls on industry to increase internal research and development spending in order to share costs with the DoD, Defense News reports.

Kendall recently told a press conference his office would gather comments from stakeholders for up to three months and release the final draft in early 2015, McLeary reports.
