GSAThe General Services Administration moved forward with its plan to add a special item number on cloud procurement under its IT Schedule 70 program by publishing a draft of the terms and conditions, FedScoop reported Monday.

Billy Mitchell writes the agency intends for the SIN framework to simplify the acquisition of cloud services for government clients.

The draft was based off replies from a previous request for information on the proposal and is open to further comment from industry until Jan. 15, Mitchell adds.

The document lists the characteristics of cloud services eligible for inclusion under the new SIN, suggests three subcategories for listing, and the evaluation providers in the SIN will undergo from the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program and other standards bodies.
