GSA Presolicits Bids on New Building for Diplomatic Security Bureau

GSAThe General Services Administration is looking to buy real estate in Foggy Bottom or the Northern Virginia area as part of its plan to consolidate Bureau of Diplomatic Security operations.

The agency said in its notice on FedBizOpps that it requires a space of between 350,000 and 500,000 square feet, with parking facilities and within walking distance to a Metrorail.

According to the presolicitation document, interested parties may either propose the sale of an existing building or construct a new facility that meets GSA’s needs.

As an additional specification, the agency said valid structures should be able to meet Level IV of federal building security standards.

GSA said it will entertain replies to the notice until December 19, and expects market surveys and initial offers in the first quarter of 2015.
