IARPA said it will introduce the Cyber-attack Automated Unconventional Sensor Environment Program to interested vendors on Jan. 21 in Washington.
The CAUSE project’s goal is to build a sensor technology that will be designed to foresee cyber attacks and operate with existing intrusion detection tools.
The agency also seeks to explore computing models for managing large volumes of streaming data as well as for generating probabilistic threat warnings.
IARPA says work will consist of classified and unclassified research and expects to attract multidisciplinary teams of companies and universities in the program.
