Denise Turner Roth, acting administrator of the General Services Administration, is set to receive a presidential nomination to serve in the administrator role on a full-time basis.

She has led GSA since Dan Tangherlini stepped down in February and has served as its deputy administrator for the past year, the White House said Thursday.

“Denise is a capable leader whose experiences in management will serve our nation well,” President Barack Obama said.

Before she joined the agency in March 2014, Roth managed the municipal operations of Greensboro, North Carolina, between 2008 and 2014.

She also worked as district liaison in N.C. and as legislative aide in the Washington, D.C., mayor’s office.
